Australian-born, Berlin-based producer Jad & The has marked himself out as one of the most exciting house and disco producers around with his prolific and consistently tasty output. His almost pop-like sensibility for imbuing his tracks with memorable melody, riffs and the choicest of samples sets him apart from the crowd. Releases on many of the most acclaimed labels of our era — Sonar Kollektiv, Exploited, Toy Tonics, 2mr and Axe On Wax have proved time and time again that he’s a major talent.

It’s no surprise that his music is so musical, when you learn that he helmed a four-piece disco/electronica act called Mitzi who featured on the Grand Theft Auto soundtracks and played alongside the likes of Chic & Nile Rodgers and The Whitest Boy Alive.  Mitzi’s loss was house music’s gain, though, as the quite literal disbanding of the project saw the fuzzy-haired musician move from his native Australia to the opposing climes of Berlin. Spending a few years under the name Jad & The Ladyboy, he quickly established himself as one to watch, and now simply known as Jad & The, he continues to impress.

His massive Strings That Never Win was named as one of Mixmag’s Tracks Of The Year in 2017, finding support from the likes of Bradley Zero along the way, Moxie and Éclair Fifi have both been champions of him on the influential NTS, as has B Traits on BBC Radio 1. His DJ sets have likewise been met with much love, with billing alongside the likes of Bonobo, Todd Terje, Carl Craig, Tim Sweeney, Tensnake, Greg Wilson, Chaos In The CBD, Funkineven and Move D over the past few years.
